Easy Bike Ride to Henley Beach Via Torrens River

I had dropped my wife off in the city, she had plans for a couple of hours, so I thought I would load my beach cruiser on to the bike rack and go for an easy bike ride along the Torrens River to Henley beach.

I headed down to a parking area just off Park Tce at Brompton near the old North Adelaide Railway station and set off from there.

The total distance of the ride was about 20 klm and I would suggest setting aside about 2 hours to complete the the ride in a leisurely manner.

The bike way is generally flat, but there are moments when you need to go from the top of the bank down to the rivers edge and up again, which can be quite steep in places.

The path narrows in spots and has a couple of blind corners so in those sections slow down and take care, over all the path is wide and there is ample space for walkers, joggers and cyclists.

The councils along the River Torrens Linear Park have done a delightful job in providing lots of lovely places to stop, rest and  have a picnic as part of the ride.
