Riding the Sturt River Linear Park

Todays ride along the Sturt River Linear Park was an impromptu ride, my wife who volunteers for Heartfelt as a photographer was called to the Flinders Medical Centre to do a photo shoot and she asked me to come for a drive. Knowing that I would need to fill in some time while the photo shoot was happening I remembered that the Sturt River Linear Park bike path was on my list of to do’s.

The bike rack was attached to the car and the bike loaded on and Marion and I headed to the Flinders Medical Centre. From the Medical Centre it was a short ride to the start to the Sturt Linear park on Sturt Road.

Sturt River Linear Park Bike Ride

This must have been the windiest day ever to go for a ride, the ride to Glenelg was easy as the wind was behind me for most of the ride, until I headed west towards Jetty road and the beach where I was riding directly into the wind.

I left the Sturt River Linear Park and followed the Mike Turtur Bikeway to Jetty Road and then followed Jetty Road to the foreshore and the start of the Glenelg Jetty.

Glenelg is a great place to stop for a coffee or an ice cream at the midpoint of your bike ride, as I needed to get back and meet Marion I did not have the time to stop.

The ride back was just as easy as the ride to Glenelg as the incline is very minimal, all up a very enjoyable ride.
